Guest Mobility Ticket: Free Bus & Train Travel in Salzburg
The Guest Mobility Ticket is a free travel pass for all guests staying in Saalbach Hinterglemm. It covers all public transport throughout the entire province of Salzburg – at no extra cost and with no registration required at a counter. You receive it automatically at check-in at Pension Norika, or even before your arrival if you use the Pre-Check-in.
Since 1 May 2025, the ticket has been a fixed part of every stay in SalzburgerLand. It is funded through a mobility levy that is already included in your accommodation price. You don’t need to book or pay for anything extra.
For guests of Pension Norika, this means: the journey from Salzburg Airport or from Zell am See train station all the way to Saalbach – and every further trip during your holiday – is possible free of charge by bus and train.
What exactly does the Guest Mobility Ticket cover?
The Guest Mobility Ticket covers all regular public transport within the province of Salzburg: city and regional buses, S-Bahn trains, regional and long-distance trains operated by ÖBB and Westbahn, as well as the Pinzgau local railway.
This also includes micro public-transport services in the region. In practice, you can use it to travel directly from Salzburg Airport or from Zell am See train station to Saalbach without buying a separate ticket. The same applies to spontaneous day trips to other towns within the province, for example to the city of Salzburg or to areas near Kitzbühel within the provincial border – no additional ticket is required.
Not included are special transport services: cable cars, special and steam trains, night bus lines, and toll roads do not fall under the ticket. For mountain lifts in Saalbach Hinterglemm, the separate Joker Card applies instead, which you also receive automatically with your booking.
Important: the ticket is valid exclusively within the borders of the province of Salzburg. For journeys beyond that, you will need a regular ticket.
How do I get the Guest Mobility Ticket?
You can get the Guest Mobility Ticket in one of two ways: automatically at check-in on site, or in advance through the Pre-Check-in if you need it already for your arrival journey. Both options are free of charge.
Check-in on site: Without a Pre-Check-in, you simply receive the ticket on arrival at Pension Norika – either printed or digitally via the Home of Lässig app.
Pre-Check-in, step by step:
- Pension Norika sends you a link by email before your arrival.
- You enter your registration details online.
- You download the Home of Lässig app (iOS and Android).
- You create an account – important: use the same email address you used for the Pre-Check-in.
- In the “Wallet” section, you will find your ticket automatically as soon as Pension Norika has released it.
Using the identical email address is the crucial point: it’s the only way the app recognises that the ticket belongs to you.
What does the Guest Mobility Ticket cost?
The Guest Mobility Ticket is free for you as a guest. It is funded through a mobility levy that is already included in your accommodation price at Pension Norika.
This means you pay no surcharge and don’t need to book anything separately. The ticket is provided to you automatically at check-in, regardless of how long your stay is or which room category you booked.
This arrangement applies uniformly throughout SalzburgerLand and was introduced by the region to make sustainable mobility more attractive for holiday guests. For you, this means more flexibility for excursions as well as for arrival and departure, without incurring any extra costs for bus and train travel.
The only exception: cable cars, special trains, and toll roads are not included in the ticket and are billed separately.
Can I use the ticket already on my arrival day?
Yes, the Guest Mobility Ticket can already be used on your arrival day – but only if you have completed the Pre-Check-in with Pension Norika beforehand.
Pension Norika sends you the link for this by email before your arrival. After completing the Pre-Check-in, you download the Home of Lässig app, create an account using the same email address you used for the Pre-Check-in, and then find your ticket in the Wallet section of the app.
Once the ticket is visible in your Wallet, you can already use it for your arrival journey within Salzburg – for example, for the trip from Salzburg Airport or from Zell am See train station directly to Saalbach.
Without a Pre-Check-in, the ticket only becomes available once you officially check in at Pension Norika.
Can I also use the ticket on my departure day?
Yes, the Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the entire duration of your stay – including your departure day.
This means: if on your departure day you still need to travel by bus or train to the station, to the airport, or to one last destination within Salzburg, this is covered by the ticket. You don’t need to return it at check-out or deactivate it early, and this final trip won’t cost you anything extra.
This applies regardless of whether you received the ticket at check-in on site or retrieved it in advance through the Pre-Check-in in the Home of Lässig app – in both cases, validity is tied to your entire booking period.
Since the exact validity period is set according to your booking dates, it’s a good idea to check briefly at the front desk of Pension Norika if anything is unclear – especially if your departure is very early in the morning or very late in the evening. This way you can be sure your ticket is still active at the time of your journey.
Does the ticket also apply outside of Salzburg?
No, the Guest Mobility Ticket applies exclusively to public transport within the borders of the province of Salzburg.
For journeys that go beyond this border – for example to Tyrol, Bavaria, or other Austrian provinces – you will need an additional, separate ticket for that section of the journey. The Guest Mobility Ticket then only covers the portion of the trip that lies within Salzburg.
In practice, this means: if you’re travelling by train from Munich, for instance, only the section from the Salzburg provincial border (or from the first stop in Salzburg) onward is free with the ticket. You will need to pay for the section before that as usual.
Within Salzburg itself, there are no restrictions – whether you’re travelling to the airport, to a neighbouring town, or into the city of Salzburg.
